Vacay Anyone…
Rounding off my story started on Huffington Post,
I have really enjoyed doing a lot without doing much without a long drive or a flight out. Staying at the Conrad Hotel in Brickell I wasn’t sure what to expect, but their service is stellar and that is what grabs my attention at first. The bathroom in our case was terrific. Spacious and again, I took a bath early in the morning and watched the sunrise from my tub. I don’t own a condo in a high rise, so this was an experience I wanted to enjoy.
Another service I took full advantage of was having breakfast and lunch at the hotel so that way I could relax and not worry about driving or waiting for a car or anything like that. Breakfast was a buffet style, but honey, there was plenty. I stuck to a typical hot breakfast and fruits and took my tea in the room. After a morning nap and some TV (love those cable channels) we showered and went back to Atrio and had our lunch on the balcony of Level 25. Gorgeous Miami weather, views of boats in the bay and clear blue skies made it that much better.
If you plan on staying in the Conrad or would like to eat at Atrio and sip on cocktails at Level 25, there are a few choices to help you out with the check::
Local Dines has a $21.99 coupon with a value of $60.00 with no restrictions or special menus or if you want, Miami Spice is coming up next month with a set price and meal.
We reserved the afternoon for a stroll around Vizcaya Museum and Gardens a place that is about ten minuets away from the hotel but when you’re inside, it feels like another world all together. At the moment, there is a reduced fee to get in at $12 due to construction but that place to me is magical. The rooms, the gardens. It’s beautiful. Also watching Quinceañeras having their pictures taken is really entertaining.
When I was ready to check out of the hotel and back into my life it was like pulling off a Band-aid. Quick. Looking back on the get away, I can only tell you, to try and not use your phone, leave work at work and don’t take it with you (and this is mentally), enjoy your time. Eat slow, sip slower and savor the moments. And without further sounding like a Self Help guide, relax. Life continues and trust me, once I turned on my cell, the 3545203282 emails, textes and phone calls I had missed didn’t put me in a panic, I just went back to work only a little less stressed and ready to take on the world.
And for more ideas this summer:
The Venetian Pool is a nice way to spend your afternoon. Coral Gables residents pay $5 and everyone else pays $11. Threr are waterfalls, and cave-like grottos and the 820,00 gallon pool is fed with spring water from an underground aquifer with is filled and drained daily in the summer. The historical destination is a nice day away from the usua.
Hours of operation:
June 11, 2012 – August 19, 2012
•Monday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
•Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
August 20, 2012 – September 3, 2012
•Monday – Friday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
•Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The Fairchild Gardens are free on Sunday in the month of August and on the first Wednesday of every month till November. Go early when the sun is tolerable or later on in the day to enjoy during the summer. Walking around in the park is another way to relieve some stress.
It’s Miami Spa time until the end of August. For most of the treatments, a huge discount of $99 per treatment is the key price. Agua at Delano and Bliss on South Beach are a couple of the participants with several package options.
