Backstage with the Lion King in Miami. Still can’t believe I was there seeing and touching those wild things.

some outtakes.
This weekend I headed up to NY for work and a recharge of creativity. Mission accomplished. Here is my personal observation.
One: The New York City girl is still alive.
Two: NYC people are nice.
Three: Yes, there are still thugs around.
Four: Fashion. A love story in every borough.
Five: Masstransit is it. Unless you have car service (with a hustling local behind the wheel)
My first few hours in a nutshell:
Got on a plane, sat in the isle as requested. Landed on time, took a yellow cab home that smelled like pee. Mom made lunch, we caught up on gossip, changed and headed out. two blocks later, took the F (LOVE THAT TRAIN), arrived in Chelsea 23rd street, bought bubble tea and waited on my childhood friend. we walked to high line park for the sunset as we headed south to my first official stop for work, the richard avedon exhibit at Gogasian Gallery. the PR girls were snotty (big surprise), saw so many face, the fashions were making me weak and a guy got 100% naked as a nod to the exhibit. we took off to another opening for Jeffrey Kost where all the nyc celeb drags stopped by. One said “hate when people take pictures while I am trying to just stand here”, wish i was there to see her crying for attention a few years from now. moving on. Ladyfag and Marco smiled for my lens, kiss kiss and a couple of drinks later, we were still there dancing to miss honey dijan (who is a DJ?). tick tock, time to go. cab to the LES and split the crew, bff and I went to dinner, the rest for a fashion change, of course. who wants to be in the same daytime outfit. after the meal back in cab to Soho Grand for another party. Kiss kiss to Juan Puentes who took my drink, danced in the bathroom, met some other people and off we went. taxi please! arrived at a private party that was up in a penthouse which led to the rooftop with views of the freedom tower and the empire state building. perfect weather. some art talk and shoe discussions, a glass of wine and now it’s only 1 am. by then my body gave in. waited a little but i opted out from going anywhere else. That was only my first 8 hours in nyc.
Here are a few images from the weekend.

Views from High Line Park at night. This was the block party ending.

Block Party. Had a nice gourmet ice cream from a truck.

Dinner at some Brazilian place in Alphabet City.

Heading to Frieze.

My last ferry ride. Love the guys shoes on the right.

The most touristy thing I will always do (even when I lived there…) is go and take in Times Square.

Headed back.
