This weeks Flasher
I seem to be pretty upset on almost every entry of Diary of a Flasher – I need to take a mini break and relax. I’d love to get the hell outta here for a week or two. Maybe a fundraiser?
This weeks picture is one of the craziest nights with the downtown crew back in early 2007. That picture was taken after a raunchy moment happened with a DJ and a couple of girls and pants were pulled off, boys making out with girls who weren’t their girlfriends and I was even flashed by some girl I never met and haven’t seen since.
Tonight I am documenting BFGF and I am sure I will have a story to share for next weeks Diary on my night spent on 14th street and beyond, so I plan to write it tomorrow while it’s fresh in my mind and in my memory card.
DJ AM dies
Not that I knew him, but it shocked me to read the twitters on DJ AM dieing. Here’s a picture I shot of Adam on the red carpet at the Revolution opening up in Broward. At the time he was dating Nicole Richie. It was June 24, 2005.

And last year during fashion week in NYC, I was on an assignment that was downtown and while I waited for my clients, I walked by DJ AM (on the right), so I turned and took a this shot for a keep sake. I am not a paparazzi.

Flashdance
let’s watch it together.
It’s hot outside. I know this. Some of you are even staying in and doing movie night with friends or even going to movies to be inside those cold theaters, but how about this…
At the Olympia Theater at the Gusman Center of the Performing Arts this Thursday, August 27, there is a screening of the film classic, Flashdance (1983).

This event is part of their Flickin’ Summer Movie Series (benefiting the Gusman Center) with a very decent happy hour ($3 beers and $5 cocktails) and dancing in the aisles as you watch the movie and from what I hear, after. Guest are invited to the stage for a dance party with DJ Pauer (here for his MySpace page, though he hasn’t been on it since June, there’s info there) and a competition for “Best ’80s Dressed” and “Best Dancers.”

Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster or you can get them at the window the night of the movie.
Happy Hour starts at 6:00 PM (don’t forget $3 beers and $5 cocktails)
Movie 7:00 PM (running time is 95 mins)
then dancing with DJ Pauer
Claire Danes on Black Book
For the next few weeks I will be out there, shooting away things in my head, images from my dreams and projects I that need to get done because it’s the time. The creative flow is here.
As for my fashion inspiration today:

That’s Claire Danes. Here is the article and fabulous gallery on Black Book Magazine.
Annie Leibovitz…broke?
Being blue…
Stefanie Del Papa kept the styling for the Caroline Geys photo shoot up on the trend, sweet and denim. Nylon is on the same path, here is their gallery.

We Love Colors by Caroline Geys:

This reminds me of 1989.
PopPhoto.com
To my surprise, a few weeks back a girl called me to ask me if I’d like to do an interview for their blog. What else would I say but yes. It’s Popular Photography!!
She called me a few days later for and held the interview over the phone. I wasn’t ready. I never am. Click here for the Q&A on a Friday afternoon.
We Love Colors too…

This is a tiny shoot with just chics, almost no budget, and lots of chillaxing for the shoot of Caroline Gey’s line for WE LOVE COLORS.
I learned a lot on this shoot. But we did what we could and we got all the looks in. My idea came from the WLC site, very natural with a styling that looked like ‘the downtown girl’.
Check out Caroline Gey’s line on We Love Colors here.
