Day one of Winter Music Conference 2009:
Yesterday we took it pretty easy, considering it’s the first day of WMC 2009. I started with a sit down interview on the rooftop of The Mondrian at sunset. It was gorgeous & relaxing.

Right after, I headed over to BED for an event having nothing to do with WMC, but saw Ramona from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New York City. She did not mention on her blog that she’s in Miami Beach for the Sony Ericsson Open. We ate well, drank well.

After a little Ed Hardy Champagne at the event, by the way, I really wish fashion designers would stick to making fashion, we took off but not before we were reminded there was a huge party that night at BED. This was true. On our way home from Mansion, there was a crowd outside.

The I ran over to Upper Eastside Garden for the Debbie And Friends Party and the anniversary of UEG. I should have left a little earlier knowing I had just broken a big rule on seeing local acts during WMC, but I got caught up with the vodka infused pineapple chunks and the booty dancing.

After running out as the cops showed up at UEG, we went straight to Electric Pickle for the Karmaloop MAJOR party (indie/electro house) which was suppose to start late. Apparently they were waiting for a rush after Calvin Harris would finish his set at Mansion, go figure. Guess this was the unofficial Calvin Harris after party. Wonder if a rush did end up happening given that Calvin Harris canceled his Mansion appearance.

This was going to mess up my plans. I had to leave early and catch the Mansion party which turned out to be another electro indie thing. I did not get word Calvin had canceled, but I still went over and caught a bit of The Bloody Beetroots who turned out to rock it, for a bit.

I mean they really were celebrated!

I spoke to Armand Van Helden for a bit. I think he thought we were old friends, but it might have been the dark or the indie hair I am sporting. Who knows and who cares. He is still adorably hot but needs to change his look!!! YA! Also Tiesto was in the house with an entourage of 25 to 35 people easy. Bottles, bottles and more bottles were sent to his table right smack in the middle of what use to be the dance floor at Mansion.
By 3:30 am, I was home in bed, ready for today.
HERE ARE SOME REMINDERS:
The infamous “Arthur Murphy School Of Disco” bus will be making runs between The Standard hotel on South Beach and The Double Grand Waterclub. The runs will be made once an hour at approximately X:15 starting at X=12 (noon) and ending at X=11.
The Standard hotel is located at 40 Island Avenue. If you need a ride to The Standard, there is a complimentary shuttle that runs between The Raleigh (1775 Collins Ave) and The Standard every half hour between 9am and 9pm.
That was Musical Missionary for posting that on Face Book. Thanks guy.
Today our plans are to head out to some pool parties, rooftops and other great ones, where we will catch some new DJs, new sounds and new faces. I won’t be texting back much since I will be keeping my eye on the prize, documenting this years WMC.
But follow me on Twitter (www.twitter.com/nefariousgirl), what ever I hear or spot, I will let you know.
