A few weeks back I noticed a rental sign on the wall of the Irene Marie Agency and realized, this can’t be. The agency just celebrated 25 years of fabulousity a few weeks back and all seemed to be fine. But today we read on The Herald that it’s true. Models will start to hunger for more than food as the agency makes it public, they are indeed closing and posibly going bankrupt.
Now for the other side of the coin:
check out a small but very flashy (literally) gallery from yesterdays Louis Vuitton party. I adored this girl, who easily will be one of the future players of the downtown scene.
No resession here. People were shopping! I enjoyed a couple of glasses of champange and could not stop loving DJ Ross One.
But then I had to run outta there and drive down to Coral Gables to hang out with mi gente for the opening of Mamajuana – which by the way, was a great party.
Charytin on the right…still fabulous at 59. Divina!
No. I am not in NYC. But if you are not there and want to see what’s hit the run ways for Fall, here it is. I miss the swag.
Yesternight turned out to be nice. I was at the Mondrian for an event and to my surprise Bhakti Baxter was DJing with lady miss Nektar De Stagni.
I should have recorded a little something of him spinning, but instead I danced to his music. He won my heart with “I Put A Spell On You” by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins , one of my favorite tracks.
Then we headed out to FYC at Provocateur and that turned out to be okay. I like the party, but there is not enough of a crowd to keep that going.
but the best thing besides Tom LaRoc’s video spinning was talking to Alex Yanes, who also did the Publix calendar (PDF) of 2009. Britto had been doing it for the last 4 years so congrats to Alex on a great achievement.
I love these door panels. I think he said it was his wife.
Not wanting to go home yet, we drove across the bridge for a little home action and we were the only car driving on 14th street at 1 am. All lounges and clubs were closed. Reminds me to start reading my FaceBook events list.
Photographers out there…participate! A couple of photographers I know have done this and they loved it. It’s $50 to enter and all you need to do is bring sunblock, water and music and just let your creativity run free.
I’ve just re-posted some pictures of Winter Music Conference 2008 on NG since it’s right around the corner. Last year, I was contributing to other sites and never posted them here. By the time I looked at my calendar, it was August.
The very sexy Mrs. Tommie Sunshine – Daniela
Showing up early to a WMC party can go either way. Some places are packed early and you are shut out of the party and some don’t get jumping till after a few hours of the doors opening. You’ll see that in my WMC galleries.
An example: The Vagabond (March 25), was pretty empty when we arrived, but by the time I left to PS 14, the Vag was nicely filled and the vibe was only increasing.
Check out the galleries right here. I’ve posted them right on top of the 2009 page, easy to find and more to follow.
